What are the Benefits of the UCMAS Program?

    • Math Proficiency
    • Enhanced Memory Power
    • Improved Concentration
    • Multi-tasking Ability
    • Problem-solving Ability
    • Improved Academic Grades

How to overcome the Covid-19 Slide?

    • 2 months of reading skills are lost over a single summer
    • 2.5 months of math skills fade away during the summer gap
    • 9 out of 10 teachers have to re-teach material when kids return to school
    • 4-6 weeks of time is needed for re-teaching material students forget due to summer slide

It is a well-known fact that children experience loss of learning during the summer break. However, with the outbreak of Covid-19 and the long gap in learning, children can experience far greater consequences of learning loss during the closure time. Keeping them engaged in regular learning can help them overcome the threats posed by Covid-19 Slide.

    FAQs

UCMAS Mental Math program promotes whole brain development, develops foundational skills like focus, listening and creativity and trains the next generation of leaders to face the challenges of an increasingly competitive environment.

At any age, especially in the formative years of 5 – 13.

More than one way to solve a problem – applying different frameworks, we’ve found, helps increase the child’s understanding and improves his/her numeracy skills

Unique among its competitors, UCMAS actively encourages parents to participate in the Parents Orientation (prior to starting the Basic level), which helps parents understanding the system and support their child in the early training stages. Parents are also regularly kept up to date as to their child’s progress throughout the program.

The UCMAS Mental Math program trains students to quickly and accurately do complex calculations without the aid of a calculator or other helpers. Introduce the concept of visualization and thinking in pictures.

Absolutely! A student who has already demonstrated advanced ability in mathematics will still benefit greatly from learning the Abacus method. UCMAS graduates learn new techniques and better understand how calculations work, enabling them to do their work faster and more accurately. That’s powerful knowledge to take forward into secondary school and beyond. Plus, the whole brain development and life skills UCMAS fosters will help your child excel in any subject.

Because our training method differs greatly from that of traditional mathematics, just because your child struggles with math at school doesn’t mean he won’t do well at UCMAS. On the contrary, some of the most successful students have been those who had previously found math difficult. If a student is dedicated to the program, receives strong parental support and encouragement and persists through the initial training period, dramatic improvement is guaranteed. This is confirmed by the many testimonials we have from our proud UCMAS parents.

An afterschool program offers children the opportunity to explore their true
potential with practical learning. Engaging in co-curricular activities allows
children to discover their talents, become focused in school & experience learning
    in a stimulating environment.

Through abacus math, a child learns to quickly solve mathematical problems
without wasting time on lengthy calculations. Computation using mental math
develops a child’s memory, visualization and concentration skills essential for
    learning complex lessons.

Robotics challenges a child’s thinking and learning through them creates new
neural networks in the brain. This engages the creative cells in the child’s brain as
he/she develops the ability to solve problems from several distinct perspectives.

UCMAS summer camp focuses on creating a dynamic learning environment for
your child. The camp is organized to provide an interactive learning process which
will activate different components of the child’s brain by engaging in interesting
    and creative activities.

Through activities like robotics, mental math, puzzles & riddles, and many others,
the child will be able to enhance his/her potential of specific cognitive skills like
creativity, innovation, memory, concentration and imagination.
